Both of them are working in full time positions to serve members of their communities and churches, and feel a longing to be ordained as deacons. This would, they say, be a faithful restoration of ancient orders for women to the diaconate, a respected role women held for centuries before it fell out of practice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cCalled to Serve: Two Women\u2019s Witness\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>is a short film worked on by documentary filmmakers Pilar Timpane and Andrea Pati\u00f1o Contreras, and is part of a longer term film project that will look at women&#8217;s roles in the Church by Timpane and producer Christine Delp.<\/p>\n<p>This Fall, Pope Francis invites the Church around the world to go on a journey of renewal\u00a0by becoming a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/click.mlsend.com\/link\/c\/YT0xNzYzODAzMjk1MjU3NzI5MTMyJmM9bDh6NiZlPTAmYj03MDQwMjA1NDkmZD1kM2IweDB1.FiMzUUqTMEY_jCeBMPMVBIZC-ciNEDXH1nSPYz-hMEw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/click.mlsend.com\/link\/c\/YT0xNzYzODAzMjk1MjU3NzI5MTMyJmM9bDh6NiZlPTAmYj03MDQwMjA1NDkmZD1kM2IweDB1.FiMzUUqTMEY_jCeBMPMVBIZC-ciNEDXH1nSPYz-hMEw&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1630414940583000&amp;usg=AFQjCNEPCgBOyuEF3HBGxbpSG0qO44ZRvQ\">more listening, participatory, and inclusive Church<\/a>.\u00a0We hope stories like Kelly and Philom\u0117ne can have space to be heard within this inspiring process.<\/p>\n<p>We seek to\u00a0acknowledge these women\u2019s work and dreams, and to hopefully reimagine how their gifts can be received\u00a0within the Church.\u00a0A seat at the table.
