Thank you for your interest in hosting a house meeting with Discerning Deacons!
This orientation session will walk you through everything you need to know to host a successful gathering as part of our yearlong listening campaign on the future of the diaconate, including the open question of women’s inclusion, during the Synod Implementation Phase.
During this session, we’ll cover:
- How to access and use the host portal to manage your meeting details and access resources
- An overview of your toolkit materials, including the facilitator guide, participant handouts, and conversation prompts
- Navigating frequently asked questions about the diaconate and the synodal process
- Reporting back on the fruits of your house meeting
- Growing the impact of your house meeting
- Timeline and next steps for scheduling your gathering
Whether you’re hosting in your living room, a parish hall, or online via Zoom, this orientation will give you the confidence and tools to lead a meaningful conversation. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of the process from invitation through follow-up, and plenty of time for questions.
No prior facilitation experience is needed—just a willingness to gather others in prayerful dialogue about the future of ministry in our Church.
If you are unable to attend this session live, you can register to receive a recording of the call.
