St. Phoebe Listening Session I (English)

PRESENTED BY: DISCERNING DEACONS

Help our Church deepen its discernment on the topic of women’s ministry and leadership by participating in a St. Phoebe Listening Session during the Vatican Synod’s Implementation Phase!

These 2-hour online sessions, hosted by Discerning Deacons, include small group conversations on themes raised in Paragraph 60 of the 2024 Final Document of the Synod on Synodality—the official magisterial teaching, approved by Pope Francis, that capped a three-year global listening process. Paragraph 60 affirms women’s equal baptismal dignity and their contributions throughout church history; names that women continue to face obstacles to full participation, acknowledging this is to the detriment of the church’s mission; and calls for the implementation of all leadership and ministry roles for women already permitted by canon law, greater inclusion of women’s voices in church teaching and preaching, and continued discernment on women’s access to diaconal ministry.

St. Phoebe Listening Sessions are currently scheduled for the following dates and times. Registration pages for all dates are available here.
